Ilene Glickstein’s interest piqued in the customized apparel business when her daughter graduated elementary school. She found herself wanting to make school spirit wear, but didn’t have the faintest idea how to go about creating customized clothing. All Ilene knew was that she loves wearing t-shirts associated with special memories, and wanted to help people create new memories via her personalized clothing. Ilene began working for other custom apparel companies and gained years of experience before venturing out on her own. In May of 2014, People Wear Me Out was born. Ilene’s husband created the company name after realizing two things: 1. When Ilene came home from work every day, she was always exhausted, and 2. When Ilene and her husband would go out, they would see people wearing custom apparel Ilene designed. The name People Wear Me Out has a double meaning!

               Ilene has lived in Santa Clarita for 29 years. She was born in New York, but moved to California when she was five years old. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley, and attended Granada Hills High School with football star John Elway. Ilene attended California State University, Northridge, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Radio, TV, and Film. While she was in college, Ilene worked at NBC and Warner Brothers. Ilene is married, and has one daughter, who, like Ilene’s husband, works in the entertainment industry. When Ilene isn’t working, you can find her hiking or walking with her dog. Her beloved canine is the inspiration behind Ilene’s doggie tee/hoodie line.
